Barcelona agree £65m deal to sign Rodri from Man City

Barcelona have reached agreement to sign Spain captain Rodri from Manchester City for approximately £65 million. The 30-year-old, who earned the Ballon d'Or in 2024, will commit to a four-year contract with the Spanish champions. The transfer is anticipated to be finalized within the next few days.

Rodri, who joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2019 for a then-record £62.8 million, made 298 appearances during his seven-season tenure at the English club. He missed a significant portion of the 2024-25 season due to a serious knee injury and also dealt with a hamstring problem earlier in the previous season. However, he returned to form at the 2023 World Cup, leading Spain to their second title and receiving the tournament's player of the year award.

At City, Rodri has amassed 12 major accolades, including four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, three EFL Cups, and the 2022-23 Champions League.
