Iran plotted to kill Trump ahead of Turkey summit, Israel dropped intel to US: Report

Iran allegedly plotted to assassinate US President Donald Trump with a shoulder-launched missile while he was on Air Force One for the NATO Summit in Turkey, according to a report. Israeli intelligence passed this information to the White House, prompting the President to fly a different aircraft instead of the Qatari-gifted Boeing 747-8.

The plot against Trump was not the only threat; several warnings were received that Iran was planning other assassination attempts, including a sniper attack or a knife-wielding assailant at a public event. Sources indicate that the warnings intensified before the US decided to engage Iran in war in February 2025. Israeli officials briefed the White House about the potential threat, prompting the President to switch aircraft.

However, the White House and Secret Service took steps to mitigate the threats out of caution, even though there was no conclusive evidence to support the claims.
