Recently detained podcaster wants to give different political voices a platform

Bryan Kong, host of the "Let’s Get It" podcast, expressed his desire to provide a platform for individuals with diverse political viewpoints following his recent arrest. Despite his conviction, Kong maintains that he did nothing wrong and asserts that it is "only fair" for people from various political backgrounds and parties to be given a platform to express themselves. He stated, "I always believe that it's better to talk it all out and discuss it rather than just deny people the freedom to speak about it."

Kong and co-host Shamsul Saad were apprehended on August 6 following an investigation into Episode 141 of "Let’s Get It." Klang Utara police chief Ramsay Embol revealed that the pair were detained after receiving a report over a video clip of the two discussing secularism and liberalism. Both men are currently under investigation for sedition, inciting fear in the public, and offending religious sentiments.

Kong emphasizes that the podcast episode in question is still accessible online and insists he has done nothing amiss. He humorously notes that the pair have made history as the first Malaysians to be arrested for a podcast episode. However, he expresses confusion over which segments of the podcast may have crossed the line and questions whether the content incited violence or jeopardized public peace.
