In Johor, police probe claim of suspected Toyota Hilux following student walking home

Johor police are probing a claim that a suspected Toyota Hilux followed a 12-year-old food trader's son as he walked home in Taman Megah Ria on Tuesday afternoon. The incident, reported to have occurred at 4:45pm, has prompted a police investigation and heightened security measures in the area.

According to Seri Alam police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak, the boy claimed he was being followed by the Toyota Hilux in the Seri Alam region. He said police were dispatched to the scene shortly after the victim's parent uploaded the incident to Threads, a social media platform.

Mohd Sohaimi stated that the police are taking the matter seriously and are actively identifying witnesses and determining the motive behind the incident. In response to the report, the police have increased patrols in the Taman Megah Ria area to ensure the safety and security of residents.

A Threads user, identified as @chompchomp_pasta, shared the incident on social media, warning residents about a black Toyota Hilux that allegedly followed his son while walking home with a friend. The boy reportedly sought help from a woman trader before his father picked him up. A police report was subsequently filed.
