In Johor, police probe claim of suspected Toyota Hilux following student walking home

Johor police are investigating claims that a Toyota Hilux followed a 12-year-old student home from school on Tuesday. The incident, reported to have occurred at 4:45pm in Taman Megah Ria, has prompted police to actively investigate the alleged case. The victim's parent uploaded footage of the ordeal to Threads, prompting the police to deploy officers to the area.

Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the police are seeking witnesses and trying to determine the motive behind the incident. Police have also intensified security measures in the Taman Megah Ria area. Meanwhile, a Threads user identified as @chompchomp_pasta reported a similar incident, alleging that a black Toyota Hilux followed his son, who was walking home with a friend.

The boy managed to get help from a woman trader before his father arrived to pick him up. Police have urged the public to refrain from speculation and to provide verified information about the case. Anyone with information about the incident is advised to contact the Seri Alam district police control centre or its hotline.
