Five people killed in Northern Michigan, officials say; suspect found dead

Authorities in Northern Michigan are investigating the deaths of five individuals on Friday. The suspect in the case, identified as 39-year-old Chad Hickman, was also found dead. According to a social media post from state police, troopers were called to a shooting at a home in Lake Township, Missaukee County, around 11:40 a.m. local time.

Upon arrival, they discovered three bodies and a fourth person in critical condition. The suspect had fled the scene before the police arrived, leading to a manhunt. Eventually, Hickman's vehicle was spotted near a wooded area in Caldwell Township. Authorities found Hickman and the fourth victim dead in the wooded area. A fifth victim was also discovered dead at a separate home in Missaukee County, believed to be connected to the same incident.

The motive behind the killings remains unknown, and the manner of death for all five victims has not been disclosed. Michigan State Police Lt.
