5 killed and suspect dead in incident in Michigan

Missaukee County, Michigan witnessed a tragic incident on Friday that resulted in the deaths of five individuals, with the suspect also losing his life, according to law enforcement. Initially, Michigan State Police responded to a shooting report at a home in the county, located approximately 169 miles northwest of Detroit. Upon arrival, officers found three bodies inside the residence, with one person sustaining a wound and being taken to a hospital for treatment.

The individual responsible for the shootings, Chad Hickman, aged 39, fled the scene before the police arrived.

As authorities continued their search for Hickman, they discovered a fourth body at a second home in the county. The pursuit led them to Hickman's vehicle in a wooded area nearby, which ultimately resulted in the discovery of his body and an additional individual's body. Lt. Ashley Miller, a police spokesperson, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss for the community and acknowledged the challenges faced by the investigators involved in the case.

The exact circumstances leading to each death have not been disclosed by the police. The names and ages of the deceased will be released once their families have been informed, per police directive. The public is advised to stay away from the area while the investigation continues.
