Amaravati decked up for 80th Independence Day celebrations

The capital city of Amaravati has been transformed for the 80th Independence Day celebrations. Major government structures and significant landmarks throughout the region were adorned with dazzling illumination on Friday. The Andhra Pradesh Secretariat's five buildings were decorated with special lighting that highlighted the national flag's colors, and the Assembly building was also illuminated. The streets surrounding these buildings, along with Central Park, were festooned with colorful lights.

The ancient rock-cut Undavalli Caves, located near Vijayawada, shimmered in orange, white, and green as they prepared to celebrate the historic occasion. Across the city, Lok Bhavan, the Prakasam Barrage, and government offices were adorned with the same three colors. This grand display of lights added a festive atmosphere to the city in anticipation of the celebrations.

In addition to the lighting, separate flag-hoisting ceremonies were planned for Saturday at the Assembly, Secretariat, and Andhra Pradesh High Court. Legislative Council Chairman Koyye Moshen Raju will raise the national flag at the Legislative Council premises at 7:45 AM. Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu will unfurl the flag at the Assembly premises at 8 AM.

Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad will hoist the flag at the Secretariat's First Block at 7:30 AM. At the Andhra Pradesh High Court in Nelapadu, Chief Justice Lisa Gill will raise the flag at 10 AM.
