UAE strongly condemns targeting of two ADNOC vessels while transiting Strait of Hormuz

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has vehemently denounced the recent assault on two vessels belonging to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while they were navigating through the Strait of Hormuz. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attack carried out by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps is a blatant disregard for UN Security Council resolution 2817, which emphasizes the significance of unimpeded navigation and denounces the targeting of commercial vessels or any obstruction of international sea routes.

The ministry further highlighted that such an act, targeting commercial shipping and leveraging the Strait of Hormuz as a means of economic coercion or blackmail, is tantamount to piracy by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps. This aggressive maneuver poses a direct threat to the region's stability, its inhabitants, and global energy security.

In terms of the incident itself, two ADNOC vessels were attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the crew. The situation has been further exacerbated by the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran, with a total of 15 ADNOC vessels having been targeted during this period, resulting in the unfortunate loss of one life.
