Google unveils latest Pixel phones with slimmer cameras and more AI features

Google unveiled its latest Pixel phone lineup on Wednesday, featuring slimmer cameras with enhanced zoom capabilities and advanced artificial intelligence features. The new phones aim to encourage users to upgrade their devices and increase the usage of Google's AI tools, as highlighted by Forrester senior analyst Andrew Cornwall. The company has added features such as extracting photos from videos, a teleprompter, video stabilization, and improved speech-to-text functionality.

The Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL will be available starting at $900, $1,100, and $1,300, respectively. The Pixel Pro Fold, priced at $1,900, is a new addition to the lineup. Major upgrades include live translation for videos, podcasts, and voice messages, as well as a "HiLight" tool that allows users to assign colors to favorite contacts, causing the phone to light up when they call and the device is face down.

This feature complements the "Flip to Shhh" function, which silences the phone when placed face down.

Google is offering a free six-month subscription to its AI Pro plan for those who purchase the Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro XL. The new Pixel phones feature enhanced cameras with Magic Capture, which takes a series of photos and video with a single tap. Improved light sensitivity and faster "Instant Night Sight" are also included in the camera upgrades. Additionally, Google introduced Pixel Tag, a tracking device for Pixel phones running Android 9 or higher, costing $30 or $100 for a four-pack.
