Federal government: German intelligence services to be given more powers
The cabinet has approved a draft law on intelligence reform. The Federal Intelligence Service and the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution will no longer be allowed to merely gather information in the future. Under certain conditions, they can also intervene actively.
