Vietnam's VinSpace signs SpaceX launch deal for 2027

Hanoi, August 11 - Vietnamese satellite company VinSpace has entered into a launch agreement with SpaceX, according to a company announcement on Tuesday. The contract entails VinSpace's satellites being launched aboard a SpaceX Transporter rideshare mission planned for 2027. This joint venture will place VinSpace among various other clients sharing a single launch opportunity.

VinSpace is responsible for the research, development, manufacturing, and in-orbit operation of its satellites. The company's launch deal aligns with its broader strategy to develop expertise across the entire space sector, encompassing satellite design and manufacturing, assembly, integration, testing, launch management, operations, and data services. The anticipated missions encompass in-orbit technology testing, satellite capability enhancement, international cooperation, and potential commercial applications.

Established last November, VinSpace was initially funded with 300 billion dong ($11.4 million). The majority stake in VinSpace belongs to Vingroup, the conglomerate founded by Pham Nhat Vuong, who serves as the company's primary shareholder.
