Vietnam's VinSpace signs SpaceX launch deal

HANOI — VinSpace, a subsidiary of the Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, has entered into a launch contract with SpaceX for its satellite missions, according to a statement released on Tuesday. The company revealed that VinSpace's satellites will be launched aboard a SpaceX Transporter rideshare mission in 2027, joining several other customers on the shared launch.

VinSpace is responsible for the research, development, manufacturing, and in-orbit operation of its satellites. The project aligns with VinSpace's strategy to build expertise across the space value chain, encompassing satellite design, manufacturing, assembly, integration, testing, launch management, operations, and data services.

These missions are anticipated to facilitate in-orbit technology testing, satellite capability development, international collaboration, and potential commercial applications, as stated by VinSpace. Established last November with an initial capital of 300 billion dong (US$11.4 million), VinSpace is majority-owned by Vingroup, with founder Pham Nhat Vuong owning the largest share.
