Vietnam's VinSpace signs SpaceX launch deal for 2027

HANOI: Vietnamese technology firm VinSpace has entered into a launch agreement with SpaceX to send its satellites into orbit in 2027, the company announced on Tuesday (Aug 11). According to VinSpace, its satellites will be launched as part of a SpaceX Transporter rideshare mission, sharing the ride with numerous other clients. The company's statement highlights that VinSpace is responsible for all aspects of its satellite operations, from research and development to manufacturing, in-orbit management, and data services.

The partnership with SpaceX aligns with VinSpace's broader strategy to expand its presence within the space industry, focusing on satellite design, construction, testing, management, operations, and data services. The missions are anticipated to facilitate in-orbit technology assessments, capability development, international partnerships, and potential commercial uses.

VinSpace was established in November last year, with a seed investment of 300 billion dong (equivalent to US$11.4 million) led by Vingroup's founder, Pham Nhat Vuong, who holds a majority stake in the company.
