AICTE starts registrations for Globalink Research Internship 2027, check last date to apply

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the application process for the AICTE-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship (GRI) 2027 programme. This opportunity allows eligible Indian undergraduate students to undertake a 12-week research internship at top Canadian universities. The application period ends on September 16, 2026, and late submissions will not be accepted. Interested candidates should visit the official AICTE website, aicte.gov.in, to apply.

This collaboration between AICTE and Mitacs aims to broaden international research opportunities for Indian students. In its initial three-year phase starting in 2027, up to 300 eligible students will receive fully-funded internships annually. The 12-week internships will take place in person between May and October 2027 under the supervision of faculty members at Canadian academic institutions.

The aim is to provide students with comprehensive research experience, lab exposure, international mentorship, multicultural learning environments, and professional development.

Eligible applicants are undergraduate students enrolled in AICTE-approved institutions, at least 18 years old, and having completed at least two years of undergraduate study or currently in their second year. Candidates must meet academic and program-specific eligibility criteria set by the authorities. AICTE has advised applicants to thoroughly review the official website and Mitacs eligibility requirements before submitting their applications.

Once shortlisted, students will receive comprehensive pre-departure assistance and orientation prior to their internships in Canada.
