Last minute news of the entry of immigrants to Ceuta, live | The Government, on Vox's refusal to accept minors: “The Spanish expect us to work in a coordinated manner”

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Ecological Transition, Sara Aagesen, has criticised the fact that three communities governed by the PP and Vox have renounced hosting minors who arrived in Ceuta. Extremadura, Aragon and Castile and León announced that they will not attend the Sectoral Commission for Children and Adolescents on 13 August. “What Spaniards expect of us is to work in a coordinated and united manner and not generate more noise,” Aagesen denounced.

Furthermore, the BOE has published this Sunday the order from the Ministry of the Interior that reinstates random border controls on passengers from Italy for 30 days. The decision of the Spanish Government comes after Italy decided to reinstate border controls on travellers from Spain following the massive arrival of migrants in Ceuta, on the grounds of avoiding possible secondary movements towards Italian territory.

In the autonomous city, the population is worried that something similar could happen again, according to its president, Juan Jesús Vivas, who has asked the Government for preventive and dissuasive measures. To claim that same requirement, the Ceutan religious communities have called for a demonstration this Sunday.
