Taiwan's war drills showcased a new strike drone class that Ukraine used to smash Russia this year

Taiwan showcased two midsize strike drones during its largest annual military exercise, the Han Kuang drills, held on Saturday. The drones, resembling Ukraine's loitering munitions, were deployed above the southwest coast of Taiwan. These fixed-wing, mid-size drones are reportedly locally built and likely offer Taiwan an affordable means to strike a Chinese invasion force.

The drones were part of a littoral combat drill simulating an attack on Zuoying, Taiwan's southwest coast. Taiwan's military officials described the drones as medium-size suicide drones, adding that they were locally built. The Armament Bureau supplied the drone used for testing to the navy. While the drones were not tested in an attack, they could provide Taiwan with a cheap and effective way to hit Chinese forces over the horizon.
