Israel rejects Trump's 15-point plan for Gaza, Netanyahu says

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump's 15-point plan for Gaza, insisting no military withdrawal will occur until Hamas is fully disarmed. Despite Trump's board of peace reportedly reaching an agreement for complete Hamas disarmament, Hamas insisted it would only surrender heavy weapons if Israel ceased aggression and withdrew its forces.

Since agreeing to a ceasefire in October, Israel has continued to strike Gaza. Netanyahu emphasized at a recent cabinet meeting that the Israeli military would not withdraw until Hamas is genuinely disarmed and that it would continue to repel threats to its forces and citizens. Trump's announcement of the peace plan last month was hailed as a significant step toward lasting peace and security.

However, Netanyahu argued that Hamas's disarmament must be genuine, not a "fictitious" move. As Israeli elections approach, Netanyahu is unlikely to make concessions, dismissing far-right calls to end the Gaza plan. The plan, which also included the creation of a Board of Peace to oversee implementation, Hamas disarmament, Israeli troop withdrawal, and Gaza reconstruction, signals another setback for Trump's Gaza peace initiative, initiated in September.
