Brovdi targets finances, weapons, manpower, rear and domestic stability

Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, commander of Moscow's Unmanned Systems Forces, outlined the factors that will determine the end of Russia's war against Ukraine in a statement on August 9. He emphasized that the Kremlin must relinquish control over five key aspects of its military campaign: financing, weapon production, rear protection, personnel replenishment, and domestic stability and control.

Brovdi advocated for a strategic approach by Ukraine, describing it as the "only viable strategy" - a systematic asymmetric attrition that weakens each of Russia's war machine elements consistently.

Brovdi cautioned Ukrainians that the coming period would be more challenging than the previous ones, urging them to fight with intelligence and mathematics. He underlined the significance of leveraging intellectual and technological advantages, and cited Ukrainians' unwavering resolve to attain historical justice and freedom. "The war has already returned to where it came from," Brovdi stated, highlighting the relentless nature of the enemy and the absence of any signs of cessation.

Earlier on August 9, Brovdi reported that Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces had carried out attacks on Russian air defense positions, including S-400 Triumf, Tor, and Pantsir-S1 systems. He also disclosed strikes on an oil tanker and two dry cargo vessels in the Black Sea. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had previously suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin's desire to halt the return of Russian troops might be a reason for the war's protraction.

Kyrylo Budanov, head of the President's Office, expressed optimism about the war's active phase ending by the end of the year, yet warned of a potential escalation spiral. "There are chances, and in the spring the pace of negotiations was very good," Budanov remarked in a July 7 media interview, acknowledging the current shift towards escalation.
