Atiq Ahmed's son Abaan likely to be buried near father's grave in Prayagraj after Friday prayers

Abaan Ahmed, the youngest son of slain gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed, is anticipated to be interred near his father's grave in Prayagraj's Kasari Masari graveyard, according to reports. The burial is anticipated to occur after Friday prayers, following the grieving process of the Ahmed family. Abaan passed away in a tragic road accident in Jhansi on Thursday morning, and his body is currently being held at the mortuary of Jhansi Medical College, awaiting post-mortem examination before being handed over to relatives.

Prayagraj Police are collaborating with Jhansi Police to determine when Abaan's remains will be brought to the city. DCP Manish Shandilya revealed that increased surveillance has been established around the graveyard due to concerns that Abaan's mother, Shaista Parveen, who is currently evading capture in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case, might attempt to visit the area during the funeral.

"Given that Abaan was the youngest among his siblings, he was likely to have been closer to his mother," Shandilya stated. "We cannot dismiss the chance of her appearing within the vicinity of the graveyard or residences linked to the family. Accordingly, we have deployed police teams to monitor any unusual activity."

Mohd Fuzail Ahmed, a former secretary of the Kasari Masari graveyard committee, disclosed that preparations for the burial have commenced. The grave digger was directed to prepare a grave by Thursday at 8 PM, although the task might continue until late at night owing to the challenging soil conditions. Fuzail Ahmed informed that the body is projected to arrive either late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

The funeral is likely to be held after Friday prayers and close to the grave of Atiq Ahmed, one of the family's other interred members.
