Atiq Ahmed's youngest son Aban killed in high-speed car crash in UP's Jhansi

Aban Ahmed, the youngest son of late gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, lost his life in a high-speed car crash in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The accident occurred around 10.30 am on the Kanpur-Jhansi road in the Poonch area when the speeding SUV collided with a roadside median.

Aban was on his way to meet his elder brother Ali Ahmad, who was currently in Jhansi jail after being transferred from Naini Central Jail in Prayagraj last year. Sonu, Aban's friend, also died in the accident. Three other passengers were injured and are receiving treatment at the government medical college.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jhansi, BBGTS Murthy stated that the incident occurred due to the high-speed car's loss of control and subsequent crash into the divider. Mohammad Umar, another injured passenger and friend of Aban, recounted that the vehicle was moving at a very high speed before it became uncontrollable and crashed into the median.

Aban was the twin brother of Ahjam and the youngest of Atiq Ahmed's five sons. Of his five sons, Umar and Ali are currently in different jails in Uttar Pradesh. Another son, Asad Ahmad, was killed in a police encounter related to the Umesh Pal murder case in April 2023. Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were also murdered on April 15, 2023 while being escorted for a medical examination in Prayagraj.
