Russian strike kills five in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, sets logistics warehouses ablaze

Rozetka, Ukraine's largest online marketplace, suffered over 2 billion hryvnias ($44.7 million) in losses following a Russian strike on August 5, according to co-founder Vladyslav Chechotkin. The strike destroyed the company's largest automated warehouse in Brovary, near Kyiv, which handled more than 100,000 orders daily. Chechotkin stated that the total loss is still being calculated, emphasizing the extensive damages.

While the marketplace remains operational due to its logistics network and 50,000 partners, rebuilding the destroyed warehouse will require substantial resources and time. Chechotkin acknowledged that the strike would result in some negative impacts, including reduced service quality, slower delivery, and potentially lower product availability.

He suggested that war-risk insurance should be a crucial support mechanism for businesses affected by Russian attacks. Chechotkin also proposed tax breaks or tax holidays for affected businesses. Despite the attack, Rozetka continued operations, with partners absorbing part of the burden since their own facilities were also damaged. All employees at the warehouse escaped unharmed due to an on-site shelter.
