Abubakar Sadiq Abbas, a young innovator from Katsina State, Nigeria, created PoultryPro, an AI-powered poultry farm management platform, after gaining experience in poultry farming. The platform consolidates various farm operations, such as egg production, feed management, flock health, and financial records, into a single digital platform to help farmers make data-driven decisions.
Abbas participated in the NXTGEN Innovation Challenge Grand Finale in London, where PoultryPro received international recognition. He was named among Nigeria’s Top 100 Innovators and received an Award of Excellence for advancing Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem. Abbas sees artificial intelligence as crucial for PoultryPro's future and the advancement of poultry farming.
The AI system will follow a five-stage process: Capture, Understand, Predict, Recommend, and Act. It will organise farm records, analyse performance, predict outcomes, provide data-informed recommendations, and ultimately help farmers make better-informed decisions. Abbas aims to expand PoultryPro's adoption and usage among poultry farmers across Nigeria and other African markets to contribute to agricultural technology advancements in the region.
