Five players who can emerge as unlikely heroes in Barcelona vs Real Madrid

As Barcelona prepares to face Real Madrid in their first El Clasico of the season, the team is desperate for a win following their first defeat of the campaign. With a weakened defense and key injuries, coach Hansi Flick will need to rely on unexpected heroes to secure a positive result. Among those who could step up are Xavi Espart, Federico Valverde, Karim Adeyemi, Carlos Espi, and Gabriel Jesus.

Xavi Espart, who recently returned from a minor knock, is a versatile defender who can influence play in both defense and midfield. His ability to make runs forward, reminiscent of a full-back, could prove crucial for Barcelona against Real Madrid's attacking prowess.

Federico Valverde, a Uruguayan with immense versatility, poses a challenge to Flick with his ability to play as a full-back, central midfielder, or right winger. As a right winger, his pace, aggression, and shooting skills will test defenders, particularly the often-catchable Joao Cancelo.

Karim Adeyemi, who has struggled to maintain his impressive form recently, is expected to start on the bench against Real Madrid. However, his explosive pace and counter-attacking abilities make him a vital asset for Barcelona, especially during the game's crucial phases.

Carlos Espi, Real Madrid's well-known late goal-scorer, can emerge as a hero in this match. With a remarkable goal-scoring record this season, he barely needs to be involved to impact the game, often scoring every 12.3 minutes. His finishing ability and off-the-ball movement could provide a late weapon for Real Madrid.

Finally, Gabriel Jesus, the Brazilian forward, mirrors Espi's lethal finishing style. With three goals and an assist in four encounters against Manchester City, Jesus possesses the ability to hurt Real Madrid. His proficiency in the final third and knack for clear thinking could prove invaluable for Barcelona's cause in their first high-stakes clash of the season.
