Pakistan's Hasan Nawaz has been added to the Desert Vipers squad for the upcoming fifth season of the DP World International League T20 (ILT20). The 24-year-old middle order batter will replace England's Aneurin Donald, who has been selected for England's T20 series in Australia. Nawaz made headlines during the Asian Games in Japan, where he narrowly missed out on the gold medal, scoring 96 runs off 51 balls in Pakistan's losing campaign.
Prior to that, Nawaz played a crucial role in Antigua and Barbuda's victory in the Caribbean Premier League. The Desert Vipers, the sole franchise not under Indian ownership, are set to welcome Nawaz as he returns to the team after his successful debut season. Desert Vipers CEO Phil Oliver expressed delight at securing Nawaz's services, highlighting his impressive form in recent tournaments.
The Vipers kick off their title defense on November 21, facing MI Emirates at the Dubai International Stadium.
