CoreWeave Enters India, Partners AdaniConneX For 240 MW Data Centre Capacity

US-based AI cloud infrastructure provider CoreWeave has entered the Indian market, partnering with AdaniConneX to develop a 240 MW data centre capacity in Navi Mumbai. The campus will consist of three 80 MW buildings at AdaniConneX’s Taloja facility, with the first phase slated for completion by mid-2028. CoreWeave will be the exclusive tenant across these buildings and has the option to expand to an additional 240 MW, bringing the total potential capacity to 480 MW.

AdaniConneX is a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and US-based data centre operator EdgeConneX. CoreWeave intends to deploy NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform on the campus to support AI training, inference, reasoning, and agentic workloads. Additionally, CoreWeave plans to establish an India office and hire local talent to support customers and partners in India’s burgeoning AI ecosystem.

CoreWeave COO Sachin Jain emphasized the company's commitment to investing in infrastructure, technology, and local presence to meet the growing demand for AI infrastructure in India. The Taloja facilities are designed for high-density AI infrastructure and will incorporate direct liquid cooling for GPU data halls, along with a non-evaporative chilled water system.

This expansion aligns with the broader growth in AI and data centre infrastructure investment in India, as evidenced by Adani Group's recent commitment of $100 billion to renewable energy-powered AI data centres by 2035. In March, Adani Group was reportedly in discussions with Google and Meta to establish data centres in India, following AdaniConneX's partnership with Google for an AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam as part of Google's $15 billion investment.
