FBI chief Kash Patel and country singer Alexis Wilkins announce engagement

FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer Alexis Wilkins have announced their engagement, the pair revealed in a post on social media on Sunday evening. The 27-year-old singer shared a black-and-white photograph of herself standing next to the 46-year-old director, gesturing to her hand to display the ring she had received. In the caption, Wilkins playfully said, "Went and got the law involved."

The couple has been dating since before Patel became the head of the FBI in 2025, when Wilkins was present at his swearing-in ceremony. The country singer and political commentator released her first album in 2023. Wilkins has been associated with conservative groups and expresses her views on her website, stating she "honors country tradition while adding relevance and current commentary."

Patel also shared Wilkins' photo on his account. However, Patel has faced criticism for using government aircraft for trips without evident law enforcement purposes, including a flight to State College, Pennsylvania, for a pro wrestling event where Wilkins performed the national anthem. Photos posted by Wilkins after the engagement showed the couple smiling, with her holding a large golden championship belt.

Wilkins also gained attention as a performer at President Donald Trump's Great American State Fair on the National Mall as part of America 250, while other artists decided to withdraw from the event due to its non-partisan nature.
