DeepSeek unveils Huawei AI chip tools that may replace Nvidia’s

DeepSeek, an AI lab in China, has released open-source software tools for Huawei's Ascend accelerators, aiming to eventually replace Nvidia's technology. This collaboration between the two Chinese tech giants highlights a growing effort to develop domestic AI and semiconductor capabilities as a counter to American influence. DeepSeek's new software, TileLang, serves as an alternative to Nvidia's CUDA, a widely-used platform for AI model training.

The startup plans to build a massive data center in Inner Mongolia, deploying over 160,000 of Huawei's most powerful accelerators. DeepSeek is also in the final stages of raising a significant amount of funding, with a recent valuation estimated at around 500 billion yuan (US$74 billion), in preparation for a potential public listing later this year.
