South Korea secured a fourth-place finish in the men's team event of compound archery at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Wednesday. The archers, comprising Choi Yong-hee, Choi Eun-gyu, and Kim Jong-ho, fell short against Chinese Taipei's top team led by Chang Cheng-Wei, Chen Chieh-Lun, and Yen Tzu-Hsiang. The match concluded with a score of 234-233 in favor of the Chinese Taipei team, taking place at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Square in Okazaki, located approximately 50 kilometers southeast of Nagoya.

Prior to this event, South Korea had achieved success in the women's team and mixed team events earlier in the day. In the team competition, each archer from a team takes two arrows per end, with a maximum possible score of 60 points. After four ends, totaling 24 arrows per team, the team with the highest score emerges victorious, with a potential maximum score of 240.

In compound archery, the targets are positioned 50 meters away, which is 20 meters closer than in recurve archery. Compound archers employ mechanical release aids and magnified sights, with the perfect score of 10 being relatively common. During the match, South Korea lost the first end with a score of 59-58 and struggled further after scoring 57 in the subsequent end.
