Seoul International Music Festival returns to celebrate beauty of human life

The Seoul International Music Festival (SIMF) is set to return for its 18th edition, offering a curated series of classical music to bring comfort, hope, and joy to audiences. The festival will feature seven concerts from October 8-16 at the Seoul Arts Center and Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul, under the central theme "Bravo My Life!".

Artistic Director Ryu Jea-joon has crafted the seven concerts into a single narrative arc, reflecting the journey of human existence. The concerts will commence with the opening piece, "Breath," and progress through "Three Portraits," "Serenade," "Light and Shadow," "Wonderful Memories," "Dichterliebe," and conclude with "Humanity, That Brilliant Journey."

Ryu expressed his intentions during a recent press conference, stating that the festival's classical music has been meticulously prepared to provide comfort, hope, and joy. He hopes that the music performed by the talented artists will offer small strength, courage, and warm comfort to the lives of everyone who faithfully navigates their daily lives. The festival aims to bring together musicians from various countries, including the Czech Republic and Spain, each bringing their unique stories and experiences to the stage.
