South Korea volleyball team latest to be bussed to wrong Games venue

The South Korean men's volleyball team faced another transport mix-up at the ongoing Asian Games in Japan. The bus carrying the team took them to a venue an hour away from their scheduled training location. Following this logistical issue, the team was forced to cancel their practice on Monday morning ahead of their group game against Taiwan later in the day.

An organiser-provided shuttle bus mistakenly dropped the team off at Okazaki instead of their designated training ground in Inuyama. Due to the significant time lost, the team had no choice but to cancel the practice. The Korea Volleyball Association lodged a formal complaint with the organizers through the South Korean Olympic Committee.

The volleyball team went on to defeat Taiwan 3-1 in their match. However, the issue was not limited to volleyball, as South Korea's men's basketball team also faced a transport mix-up last week, leading to their missing a training session. Similarly, the Pakistan men's volleyball team was also affected, being bussed to the wrong arena for their game against Uzbekistan, which caused a 45-minute delay.

In an Instagram video, Pakistan captain Murad Jehan expressed frustration towards the organizers, stating that this was yet another instance of mismanagement by Japan at the Asian Games. Organizers have acknowledged past instances of official buses arriving at incorrect times or not arriving at all, and have stated they are actively working to improve transport services and closely monitor issues to resolve them.
