Pro boxer, 20, opens up about his dad's impact

Armie Litherland, a 20-year-old featherweight boxer from Newcastle-under-Lyme, credits his father's work ethic for his determination to succeed in the sport. At the age of four, Armie's father, Adrian Litherland, would often send him out the door at four in the morning and return home at nine at night. Now, Armie, who began boxing at the age of nine, is undefeated in his first two professional fights.

He turned pro at 19 and is already regarded as the youngest professional boxer from Stoke-on-Trent. Armie has been inspired by not only his father but also former British middleweight champion Nathan Heaney, whom he trained alongside as a teenager. Despite the financial challenges of professional boxing, Armie remains focused on gaining exposure and is undeterred by the lack of immediate financial rewards.

Even during his recent fight against experienced Honduran Jayro Fernando Duran, Armie managed to keep his emotions in check, but the victory allowed him to express his gratitude and love for his late grandmother, who was present at the fight.
