OpenAI announces ChatGPT Space, a collaborative workspace for users and ChatGPT and Dots, available on Pro, Business and Enterprise plans (Kris Holt/Engadget)

OpenAI announced several work-related tools at its Dev Day event, introducing ChatGPT Spaces. This collaborative workspace allows coworkers to connect with ChatGPT and Dots, personal AI agents, to access shared information. Files uploaded by team members, along with outputs generated by ChatGPT, are organized within the space for easy retrieval. The feature is initially available to users on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans, starting on the ChatGPT desktop app and web, before expanding to mobile devices.

To facilitate meetings, OpenAI introduced a plugin that can take notes, generate summaries including action items, and add them to the ChatGPT Space. Once the notes are generated, the audio captured by the plugin is deleted. This plugin is first available on the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS for Pro and Business plan users, with Enterprise users to follow.

OpenAI also assured users that their sensitive data remains protected with its Private Intelligence system, preventing OpenAI from using uploaded files for training purposes. Additionally, ChatGPT will be accessible on Slack and Microsoft Teams for Business and Enterprise plan users, enabling users to mention @ChatGPT in channels, DMs, or threads to generate slides based on conversations. Admins or users can grant ChatGPT permission to integrate with connected tools for further assistance.

Other work features include Pages, a document for generating text, charts, images, and visualizations which can be shared with colleagues for feedback. Collaborative slides, exportable to PowerPoint and Google Slides, will also be available soon. Furthermore, Shareable profiles showcasing web apps and plugins for others to explore and use are in the pipeline.
