Minister of Finance chairs AIIB Governors’ Business Roundtable

In Doha, Qatar, Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari chaired the Governors' Business Roundtable during the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Annual Meeting 2026, held on September 28 and 29. The meeting, themed "Tomorrow's Infrastructure: Impact and Innovation," took place under the leadership of the State of Qatar.

The Business Roundtable discussed the Bank's achievements and future plans over the past decade, focusing on increasing investment, attracting private capital, and enhancing collaboration with development institutions. This was aimed at achieving greater sustainable development impact across member countries.

The discussions also explored ways to reinforce the Bank's role in its second decade by broadening the services offered to member countries. This includes promoting innovation and adding greater value to development projects throughout the project cycle, thus amplifying the Bank's contributions to sustainable infrastructure investments.

Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari emphasized the importance of the Bank maintaining a member-centric approach while improving coordination and cooperation to speed up the implementation of development projects. He also highlighted the role of the Bank in bolstering regional integration and advancing cross-border infrastructure.
