Meta taps MongoDB CEO Desai to drive enterprise AI push

On September 28, Meta Platforms announced that MongoDB CEO Chirantan "CJ" Desai will lead the new Meta Enterprise Platform. This platform aims to bring Meta's AI tools to businesses. Shares of MongoDB dropped by 20% in premarket trading following the announcement, as Desai announced his intention to step down from his position as CEO after less than a year in the role.

He had replaced Dev Ittycheria in November. MongoDB has appointed Ittycheria as interim president and CEO and is currently searching for a permanent CEO. Through the Meta Enterprise Platform, Meta will provide businesses with its AI models, agents, and coding tools, including Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, and coding tools. MongoDB is a database software utilized by businesses for application development, management, search, analytics, and AI.
