England's Tuchel says calls for rotation are 'madness'

Thomas Tuchel, the manager of England’s national football team, has dismissed calls for rotation during the international break as "madness." England will participate in four Nations League matches during the extended international window, which includes games against Spain, the Czech Republic, and Croatia. The team suffered a loss to Spain on Saturday, marking the first of these matches.

Tuchel emphasized that he cannot manage the minutes of the players, stating that it is "just impossible." He explained that allowing players to pick and choose which games they feature in during the international break would send the wrong message and undermine the team's performance. Tuchel firmly believes that players must give their all in every match, stating, "We want to win the next match… An ideal scenario would be to go again and go again and go again."

The packed schedule has led to frustration from some clubs, with calls for players who had short summer breaks due to the World Cup to be rested. However, Tuchel firmly rejected these ideas, emphasizing that "there is no room for managing (the players) or an economic style." He stressed the importance of trust and confidence in his players, urging them to feel responsible for their performances.

Tuchel concluded by stating that his team will go all out against the Czech Republic in their next match, adding, "We need to be proactive. There is no room for managing (the players) or an economic style. It’s how the team want to play, how we want to play, so let’s go."
