England’s Tuchel says calls for rotation are ‘madness’

England manager Thomas Tuchel has dismissed calls for player rotation during the international break as "madness". England will participate in four Nations League matches during the extended international window, following their defeat to World Cup champions Spain in their debut game. Tuchel's team faces the Czech Republic on Tuesday, Croatia on Saturday, and the Czechs again at home on October 6th.

The tightly packed schedule has prompted some to suggest that players who took short summer breaks due to the World Cup should be rested. However, Tuchel firmly rejected this notion, stating that as a manager, he cannot manage the minutes of the players and it would be impossible to do so. He emphasized that it is not acceptable for players to take a step back or share a half, and he would never condone it.

Tuchel expressed his desire for his team to focus on winning the next match, with an ideal scenario being that at least six or seven players start every game, demonstrating trust in their abilities. He reiterated that there is no room for managing the players or adopting an economic style of play; they must play how their team wants to play.
