Police arrest 11 suspects in Ogun, recover stolen vehicles, firearms

In the past week, the Ogun State Police Command has made significant arrests and seizures, as reported by the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi. Between September 16 and 26, 2026, officers across the state executed operations resulting in the arrest of eleven suspects. The command recovered two suspected stolen vehicles, three firearms, 25 Automated Teller Machine cards, as well as various mobile phones and electrical materials.

Additionally, eight vehicles were impounded for obstructing traffic during a "No Parking" operation at the Sagamu Interchange Bridge.

The successful operations were conducted under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, and involved multiple divisions, including Owode Egba, Olorunda, and Igbesa. Notable arrests include the apprehension of suspects Rasheed Abdul 'M' and Saula Meshinoye 'M' regarding a theft of a commercial TVS motorcycle, with accomplice Saheed 'M' still at large.

Other individuals arrested include Mutiu Gafar 'M', Fatai Obasanmi 'M', Olamide Ayandele, Tope Samuel, Ayo Peter Ojo, Peter Olanrewaju, Adebayo Sodiq 'M', and Ameachine Anthony, all of whom are linked to various alleged thefts and cult-related activities. The command has also recovered a Safira vehicle from its owner and conducted a "No Parking" operation that resulted in the impounding of eight vehicles obstructing the highway.

The commissioner commended the officers for their vigilance and urged residents to continue providing credible information to the police.
