Zahid asks Ismail to meet Tuanku Muhriz, undangs to resolve crisis

In a bid to quell the ongoing crisis in Negeri Sembilan, Barisan Nasional chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has urged Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim to meet with Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz and four undangs for amicable resolution. Zahid clarified that he was not attempting to interfere in the administration of the state government but merely aiming to amicably resolve the matter.

He also emphasized the importance of prioritizing the people's welfare in the process. Furthermore, Zahid acknowledged Tuanku Muhriz's dismissal of the 10 state executive council members and urged the government to ensure its ability to continue serving the people. The Umno president pledged to meet all 25 Negeri Sembilan BN and Perikatan Nasional assemblymen at Menara Dato Onn tonight to deliberate on the crisis resolution options.

He reiterated that he sought no interference in the state government's operations. Last week, the Negeri Sembilan exco released a statement officially endorsing Tuanku Muhriz's removal, which was subsequently dismissed by the Attorney-General's Chambers for being invalid as the exco members lack the authority to make such declarations.

Tuanku Muhriz later rescinded the appointments of the exco members for breach of oath and allegiance to the state ruler. Ismail had previously contested their sacking but the police barred the exco members from entering their offices on Thursday, further escalating tensions.
