New Vivaldi tactic: Ukraine’s ground robots, each carrying two Bullspike grenade launchers, attack Russian positions and then detonate inside their shelters

During Ukraine's major Operation Vivaldi in Donetsk Oblast, the 3rd Army Corps' experimental unit of unmanned ground-strike vehicles, NC13, has employed a new tactic. The ground drones have been upgraded with grenade launchers, specifically the Bullspike RPG-22, which were developed based on the Soviet RPG-22 anti-tank grenade launcher.

Each drone carries two of these grenade launchers. The NC13 unit, commanded by Brigadier General Andrii Biletsky, has retaken over 125 square kilometers and inflicted more than 3,000 casualties on Russian forces. The robots attack Russian positions, then detonate inside their shelters, creating confusion and fear among the occupiers.

This tactic allows Ukrainian troops to strike, exert psychological pressure, and clear positions without risking their infantry. The Bullspike grenade launcher has a maximum aimed firing range of 350 meters and armor penetration of 400 mm. The robots are controlled by operators from a safe distance, allowing the 3rd Army Corps to achieve its objectives while minimizing risks to their own forces.
