KTR writes to CM, asks details about 8,000 acres of 'encroached’ lands in Sircilla

Ahead of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's visit to Sircilla on September 30, BRS working president and MLA K.T. Rama Rao wrote to the Chief Minister seeking details about the 8,000 acres of allegedly encroached land in the constituency. In his letter, Rao demanded a White Paper on the constituency's development, including the 2,400 acres of land recovered by the government from the encroached land.

He pointed out that the Chief Minister's allegation about the encroachment was baseless, stating that only 1,272 acres of land were distributed among the poor in Sircilla district from 2014 to 2023, including 204 acres in the Assembly constituency. Rao questioned the location of the 8,000 acres and the 2,400 acres recovered by the government, as well as the reasons behind the cancellation of the Bathukamma sarees work contract to Sircilla weavers and the pending ₹60 crore dues to the weavers.
