9 injured as Russian drones, missiles continue to batter Kyiv for fourth consecutive night of strikes

Russian forces continued to bomb Kyiv with drones on September 27-28, injuring nine individuals, as the multi-day assault entered its fourth consecutive night. Air defense systems were active in central Kyiv, generating a continuous series of blasts and explosions. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that six of the injured required hospitalization, including a child.

A Russian drone was intercepted by the city's air defenses and crashed in Podil neighborhood, according to eyewitness accounts. Following the attack, debris fell in several districts, leading to a fire in the grass cover and a non-residential building. Emergency services were dispatched to the affected areas. Trains were halted and passengers were evacuated to underground shelters to avoid further harm.

The latest strikes followed days of relentless attacks on Kyiv, with one death and five injuries reported on September 26-27. Across Ukraine, the Russian forces claimed responsibility for 14 deaths and 57 injuries during the same period. President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed that Russia launched over 2,200 drones, 1,650 bombs, and 38 missiles, including ballistic missiles, against Ukraine last week.
