Teen swimmer makes Games history as Thai, Chinese sprinters win gold

On Friday, Zhang Zhanshuo made history as the first swimmer to win seven gold medals at a single Asian Games. The 19-year-old Chinese athlete dominated the 400m freestyle swimming event, setting a Games record time of 3 minutes and 41.28 seconds. Zhang's impressive week included victories in the 200m, 800m, and 1,500m freestyle events, as well as three relays.

He expressed his satisfaction with the outcome, stating that the Asian Games were not his ultimate goal. Meanwhile, young Thai and Chinese sprinters claimed victory in the men's 100m race, breaking records with times of 9.90 and 11.06 seconds respectively. In gymnastics, Carlos Yulo secured his second gold of the Games by winning the men's vault event.

South Korea edged out China in women's basketball, with South Korea's Kang Lee-seul praising her team's fast breaks and three-point shooting. North Korea's weightlifters continued their record-breaking performance, with Oh Kwang Ok setting three world records in the 57kg bodyweight class.
