Asian Games 2026: India Claim Shooting Silver As Tilottama Sen, Vidarsa Kochalumkal, Ashi Chouksey Excel In 50m Rifle 3 Positions

Aichi, Japan hosted the Asian Games 2026, where India's Tilottama Sen, Vidarsa Vinod Kochalumkal, and Ashi Chouksey claimed the silver medal in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions team event. The trio achieved a combined score of 1763 points in the qualification round, marking India's 11th shooting medal at the Games. China secured the team gold with 1773 points, while Kazakhstan placed third with 1754 points.

The Indian trio maintained their medal aspirations throughout the qualification, with Tilottama and Ashi being consistent shooters, and Vidarsa making a strong comeback after a challenging start in the kneeling position. Tilottama secured a third-place finish in the individual qualification with 590 points, earning her a spot in the eight-shooter final.

Vidarsa recovered from a poor start, finishing sixth with 588 points, alongside Tilottama in the final. Ashi, despite a difficult standing series, finished 15th with 585 points, contributing significantly to India's team silver medal. The qualification process involved shooting 20 shots in kneeling, prone, and standing positions, with the combined scores of the three athletes determining the team medal placements.

China's Han Jiayu topped the individual qualification with 594 points, while Tilottama and Vidarsa ranked third and sixth, respectively. With the team silver medal secured, the focus now turns to the individual final, where Tilottama and Vidarsa will have the opportunity to add another medal to India's shooting success in Nagoya.
