MHSAA high school football: See Greater Lansing's top Week 5 performers

In Greater Lansing, standout performances were highlighted in Week 5 high school football games, according to statistics provided by local coaches. Joel Cranmore, a senior from Leslie, led the pack with a dynamic game, contributing 236 passing yards and two touchdowns, 79 rushing yards and a touchdown, as well as a 53-yard fumble return for a score.

On the defensive side, Troy Peters, a junior from Mason, made an impact with 13 tackles, three interceptions, and added 93 rushing yards and a touchdown while contributing 15 carries. East Lansing's Baylor Schanski was a force in rushing, accumulating 251 yards on 25 carries, along with three touchdowns. Schanski also contributed defensively with two interceptions.

Alma's Penn Seeley shone both on the ground and through the air, amassing 249 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and throwing for 108 yards and two more touchdowns. Corunna's Ruger Zeeman had a standout performance on the ground as well, rushing for 275 yards and three touchdowns in Corunna's rivalry game against Owosso.

Michigan State League (MHSAA) leaders in passing yards were Blake Burke from Okemos with 240 yards, followed by Joel Cranmore with 236 yards, Griffin Braman from DeWitt with 173 yards, Abdual Carter-Foreman from Sexton with 169 yards, Jordan Castellano from Eastern with 132 yards, Gibson Rondy from Ithaca with 132 yards, and Conner Kurncz from St. Johns with 112 yards.

In terms of rushing yards, Corunna's Ruger Zeeman led the way with an impressive 275 yards, followed by East Lansing's Baylor Schanski with 251 yards, Alma's Penn Seeley with 249 yards, and DeWitt's Donovan Hillard with 119 yards. Other notable rushers included Carter Thelen from Pewamo-Westphalia with 111 yards, St. Johns' Conner Kurncz with 111 yards, and Ovid-Elsie's Chase Fabus with 107 yards.
