PM tidak puas hati gaji pekerja swasta masih rendah

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim expressed dissatisfaction with the low wages of private sector employees in Malaysia, stating that the government is seeking ways to negotiate with affected companies to increase salaries in line with productivity levels. While acknowledging the significant profits of some large private companies, Anwar emphasized that higher wages are necessary for the country's development, a point he plans to highlight in the 2027 budget announcement in October.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that the government will attempt to engage with these companies to raise employee wages, noting that the productivity in countries like South Korea has increased alongside higher salaries. Anwar compared Malaysia's productivity growth to others, but pointed out that wage increases have been significantly lower.

He agreed with suggestions for more aggressive measures and promised to announce these plans during the October budget speech. Anwar also reiterated the government's commitment to Bumiputera agenda, promising to address social equality while ensuring safety and well-being for non-Malay citizens. Regarding educational funding, Anwar urged against comparing allocations between public and private schools, emphasizing that each region has unique needs and resources, and fair treatment does not equate to equal treatment.
