Ole Miss RB Kewan Lacy (shoulder) ruled doubtful against Florida

Ole Miss' starting running back Kewan Lacy faces a major setback as he has been ruled doubtful for their upcoming game against Florida due to a shoulder injury. The sophomore was downgraded from questionable to doubtful in the Rebels' injury report just a day before their SEC matchup. Lacy suffered the injury during their thrilling victory over LSU last week, when he landed awkwardly on his shoulder while being tackled by a Tigers' defender in the third quarter.

Ole Miss coach Pete Golding maintained that the injury was not as severe as initially feared, but stated that Lacy would be a game-time decision.

Lacy was the team's leading rusher last season, tallying 306 rushes and 335 plays from scrimmage, while ranking second with 24 touchdowns and third in rushing yards with 1,567 yards. However, this season, he has been operating at a reduced pace, particularly after missing a quarter and a half due to his absence in the LSU game. With Lacy potentially sidelined, the junior backup runner Josh Lindsey and wide receiver Makhi Frazier, who was injured during the LSU game, will need to step up to prevent Florida's defense, led by Heisman hopeful quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, from stifling the Ole Miss offense.
