Indian canoe athlete Pradhyumna Singh Rathod is set to represent his country at the Asian Games 2026. In an interview with The Free Press Journal, Rathod spoke about his journey from swimming and water polo to canoeing, as well as his preparation for the continental event.

Rathod was born into an athletic family. His father is an international swimmer, and he started swimming when he was just two years old. The mindset needed to be a successful athlete was instilled in him from a young age. Before focusing on canoeing, Rathod was a professional swimmer and water polo player.

Rathod's introduction to canoeing came when his father took him to watch it in a different city. He was captivated by the white water and the adrenaline rush it created. When he got into a canoe, he felt the thrill and immediately fell in love with the sport.
