Gbajabiamila: I never betrayed Tinubu’s trust

Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, has declared that he never compromised the trust placed in him by the President. The former Speaker of the House of Representatives addressed the 2026 Gbajabiamila Mega Empowerment Programme, held at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos, where he tackled the recent controversies surrounding him.

The allegations purportedly linked him to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), a fictitious organization. However, various probes into the fake agency, including one conducted by the House of Representatives, have exonerated Gbajabiamila. The Chief of Staff emphasized that due process prevailed despite pressure to condemn him before the investigations were finalized.

Gbajabiamila acknowledged that the past few months had been challenging, with false accusations and strained relationships. He assured that his integrity remained intact and thanked those who stood by him. The Chief of Staff reaffirmed his commitment to his responsibilities in the Presidency, emphasizing that he would not be swayed by any form of pressure or attacks.

He urged those behind the accusations to understand that their actions would not affect his dedication to the President's work. Gbajabiamila also highlighted his unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu, regardless of political disagreements. The empowerment programme aimed to provide financial and logistical support to around 5,000 beneficiaries from Surulere.

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, praised Gbajabiamila's consistency in supporting the local community and urged others to back Tinubu's re-election, citing the President's strong leadership and ability to build the largest political party in Africa.
