I’ve never betrayed Tinubu’s trust – Gbajabiamila

Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila has declared he has never breached the confidence President Bola Tinubu placed in him. Gbajabiamila addressed this at his 2026 Mega Empowerment Programme in Surulere, Lagos, on Saturday. He also tackled allegations stemming from investigations into the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

Gbajabiamila stated that several probes, including one by the House of Representatives, cleared him of wrongdoing linked to the organization. He noted that stories were published, false accusations were made, lies were told, and his integrity was questioned. Gbajabiamila revealed that investigative reports are now public domain and that due process was adhered to, despite pressure from some quarters to condemn him prematurely.

He emphasized that President Tinubu is fully confident in Gbajabiamila's loyalty, as they have worked together closely for many years. Gbajabiamila reiterated that no amount of money, blackmail, or lies, whether from within or outside, would distract him from executing his duties in the Presidency. He also highlighted his unwavering loyalty to Tinubu, even when he disagreed with certain political decisions.

This loyalty is a hallmark of their relationship, forged over many years. Gbajabiamila highlighted that the empowerment programme, aimed at supporting around 5,000 people from Surulere communities, provided cash aid, vehicles, electric tricycles, buses, security patrol vehicles, and an ambulance. Lagos State Deputy Governor and APC candidate Obafemi Hamzat praised Gbajabiamila's support for constituents and called for backing Tinubu's re-election, citing the President's commitment to the APC and his contributions to the party.
